Middle School /High School Event

Nov. 15-17, 2024

Potomac Park Retreat & Conference Center

11 Tabernacle Way,

Falling Waters, WV 25419

This year's theme is:

DARING TO DREAM

Throughout history, God has gifted God’s people with dreams- for individuals, for communities and for the world.  And God keeps empowering us to live into those dreams. So, dreamers, where is God leading you? This church? And our world? How can we dare to let God’s dream lead us into the future?

For youth in grades 6-12. This is a small group centered event, where middle and high school youth will be grouped with other youth of the same age/grade.

In addition to the small groups, large group gatherings will introduce the theme progression through worship and music; games will help form the weekend’s community; and service projects will invite youth to apply what they’re learning to hands-on service. There are also workshops for adult participants.

Cost - $200 per person includes program, lodging, meals, activities, and a t-shirt! Scholarships are available - please see the form below. Registrations submitted after October 27 will incur a $50 late fee and are not eligible for scholarships. No registrations will be accepted after November 3.

SERVICE PROJECT INFORMATION

As part of our commitment to serve our communities, local and global, we are assembling Lutheran World Relief School Kits at our youth events this year. To help us collect all the necessary items for these kits, which are distributed among those in need, including the victims of natural disasters, we are asking each congregation to donate supplies to our effort. Many churches host a donation drive for their assigned item (found in the list below), placing a labeled box in a common area of the building and inviting everyone in the congregation to participate. This is a great way to lift up the important role young people play in the life of the greater church! Placing a short blurb in your bulletin or newsletter and announcing the drive during worship goes a long way to ensuring we can assemble the largest number of kits.

All of the items, which can be found here, are helpful.  However, we specifically ask that every congregation bring at least four notebooks per participant and one other item by name of your congregation:

When you arrive at the event on Friday night, you will be able to drop off your collected supplies in the same place you check in. Thank you so much for supporting our commitment to service at youth events!
